Formed in the year 1979, the music director of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra is Carl St. Clair. The symphony orchestra was formed by Keith Clark who was an assistant and student of the famous Roger Wagner. Clark's passion to form his very own symphony orchestra strengthened as he studied under the popular choral musician and educator at the LA Master Chorale. Clark started the orchestra with a mere two thousand dollar grant and some minor contacts. At the time of the formation of the orchestra, Clark usually gathered his performers by making calls to local musicians who were concert masters part of the LA Philharmonic orchestra, Cleveland orchestra and the Detroit orchestra. Upon the formation of the orchestra, Clark named himself the first ever musical director and called aboard Robert Peterson to take the post of personnel manager.

The debut performance by the orchestra took place in the same year as its incorporation. The performance was held at the Plummer Auditorium situated in the city of Fullerton in the state of California. In the year 1981, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra was moved to the Good Time Theatre situated in the Knott Berry Farm, located too in the state of California. By the year 1983 the orchestra grew in terms of size of its members and popularity and was able to gather a subscription of three thousand spectators, due to which the orchestra had to be moved to the Santa Ana Auditorium located in the Santa Ana High School. This was where the orchestra presented its debut recording and was able to get a manager for a full time period due to its increase in its budget. Get to know more about this orchestra by becoming a part of the upcoming performance by purchasing Pacific Symphony Orchestra tickets without any further delay.

Currently the Pacific Symphony Orchestra has decided to infuse contemporary music in addition to the classical ensemble that they perform on a regular basis. They will accomplish this by inviting current and young composers and by increasing the number of members in the orchestra's team. For this purpose the orchestra has invited composers such as William Kraft, Chen Yi, William Bolcom, Tobias Picker and Frank Tichelli since the year 2004. The orchestra ever since its incorporation has had only two music directors; Keith Clark and Carl St. Clair. The former being the founding member of the orchestra and the latter being the current music director. The orchestra has released a total of five recordings, the latest one being released in the year 2002 called the "American Requiem". Another recording was released in the same year named "Fire Water Paper: A Vietnam Oratorio". Two more recordings were released in the year 2001 that consisted of piano concerts, while that fifth recording was released in the year 1997 that included the works of the famous Toru Takemitsu; a leading Japanese composer.
