Later in 2000, the original line up of the band saw an addition of Danny Cash who played the layout and keyboard instruments.
The band was named My Morning Jacket after a worn out jacket embroidered with the Letters 'MMJ', which James found after his favorite bar was burnt down to ashes.

Their critically acclaimed album titled 'Z', was released in the October of 2005, and depicted evolution of the band. One of the tracks from that album, Where to Begin, was also featured in the Original Soundtracks album of 2005's feature film Elizabethtown.
