Mike Stud is a popular hip hop artist from Providence, Rhode Island who has been playing live in various American venues since 2010. The American singer has also released a number of successful albums and songs. Stud is a rapper who many have dubbed as one of the hottest emerging hip hop artists in the music industry today. His music is released through his own record label, Mike Stud Music, and he has performed with the likes of Loggy, Huey Mack and Mike Posner. Mike Stud grew up in Rhode Island and studied at the St. Raphael Academy. He played both basketball and baseball, earning all-state honors for basketball. Academically, he also rose to top, as one of the members of the Key Club. He then went to study at the Duke University, playing baseball for the Duke University baseball team.
Mike Stud went on to become a Freshman All-American team member and played for the NECBL's Newport Gulls. Medical problems with his arm led to surgery, leading to missing a season. His passion for music rose while he was recovering from surgery. This led to the release of a music video of his song College Humor in 2010. Initially aimed as a joke, the video went viral and went on to receive millions of views.
He then went on to release the song In This Life, featuring Loggy, whose video went on to again gather more than a million views in a short span of time. He then remixed the song Boyfriend by Justin Bieber, releasing it to yet more than a million hits. He also released a mixtape, titled A Toast To Tommy, in 2011. The mixtape ranked third on the worldwide iTunes Hip Hop Albums charts and second on the US iTunes Hip Hop Albums chart. By the start of 2012, he had become a sensation, with the year kicked off by the song Happy Ending which saw over a million hits in less than a year. He kicked off The Stud Nation Tour, going on to visit twenty American cities, growing more popular with each concert. He also released second mixtape, titled #SundayStudDay. By 2013, his music videos on YouTube had seen more than eighteen million views, a mind blowing figure. In 2013, he also released his first studio album, titled Relief, which ranked number one on the iTunes Hip Hop Albums sales chart in just hours.
