Miguel

Miguel is a famous American R&B artist, a renowned singer, songwriter and record producer. From San Pedro in Los Angeles, he has been active since 2000. He is also a musician who plays the guitar and is also a reputed dancer. His music, captivating in its entirety, has been released by record labels such as RCA Records, Black Ice Records, Jive Records and Bystorm Records. At a young age, Miguel’s parents divorced and he was raised by his mother. He was introduced to R&B music by his mother but wanted to become a dancer at the age of five. By the age of thirteen, he thought of a career in music and began writing songs by using a four-track recorder. While in high school, he was introduced to Drop Squad, a recording studio, where he learned the ins and outs of recording music, before starting a career after graduating from high school.
 
In 2000, Miguel made a production deal with Drop Squad and four years later, was signed onto Black Ice. He began work on his debut album, releasing a single and a video. His manager sent a number of his songs to Mark Pitts, renowned music mogul, who met with him soon after. He was then signed onto Jive Records and began recording his debut album. He also worked with a number of artists, on two Usher albums, one Asher Roth album and one Musiq Soundchild album. He also released a mixtape, dubbed Mischief: The Mixtape.
 
In 2010, Miguel released his debut album, All I Want Is You. It was followed by him going on tour with Usher and Trey Songz. Two of its songs topped the charts, ranking high on the Billboard 200 and selling nearly half a million copies in the US. He moved to RCA Records after it acquired Jive Records and released his second album, Kaleidoscope Dream in 2012.
 
This Miguel album was highly successful, and reflected the many singers who he counts as influences; Prince, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Donny Hathaway, Phil Collins, Kanye West and The Notorious B.I.G. He is also influenced by classic rock bands, such as Def Leppard, the Beatles, the Police and Queen. He often mixes R&B with electronic, funk, hip hop and even rock elements.
 
He is an award winning artist who has won one American Music Award nomination, one BET Award from four nominations, two Billboard Music Award nominations, six Grammy Award nominations and three World Music Awards. It is therefore no surprise that thousands of Miguel tickets are sold for his live concerts.
