Details of Meredith Monk and the Ticket Luck value
Meredith Monk tickets are all you need to catch the “the magician of voice,” live on stage. Monk is one of the most loved composers of America. She is an international celebrity who is admired for her different approach to music. Since the past fifty years, she has been composing contemporary and inspirational music.
Monk has tried her hands on a wide range of things and has done exceptionally well. She has been singing, doing choreography, music and creative direction of opera, films and theatricals. Meredith is known as the pioneer of a specialized live performance technique called the “extended vocal.” Another technique for stage performances called “Interdisciplinary performance” is also her forte. With a mix of these two, Monk has created some masterpieces. These works reflect how music, image, light, movement and sound all work together.
Meredith has used an experimental approach throughout her career. She has always believed in making music without setting barriers. Her music is nostalgic as well as high in energy. Even without words, her music conveys a lot to the listener. Monk is followed by her fans closely throughout the year. She regularly stages performances at venues like the BAM and the London's Barbican Centre. She also performs at the Lincoln Center Festival and the Houston Grand Opera on annual basis.
Monk has been composing music actively since 1968. She started off as the founder of The House. A decade later she formed the Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble. This effort helped her in expanding her exposure to music. It made her learn and master the art of “site-specific performance.” Using this technique she made Juice: A Theatre Cantata In 3 Installments in 1969.
Since Monk began her professional music career, she has received immense appreciation for her work. Her portfolio ranges from the prestigious MacArthur Genius to the coveted Guggenheim Fellowship, multiple Obies and a couple of Bessie Awards. Most of her recordings have earned Grammy nominations. Her most acclaimed work so far is Songs of Ascension. Meredith has earned many standing ovations.
In the recent years she has won several prestigious awards, titles and honors. In 2011, she won the Yoko Ono Lennon Courage Award for Arts. Other accolades include the Doris Duke Artist Award in 2012, the Musical America's Composer of the Year Award and induction in the NPR's 50 Great Voices. New Music USA's Founders Award for the year 2013 was bagged by Monk as well.
The artist's effort in movies also didn't go unnoticed. Monk's music has been featured on the OST of films made by big names like the Coen Brothers and Jean-Luc Godard. Other than films, her pieces have been used in musicals, operas and orchestra. Some orchestra/chamber music ensembles like the San Francisco Symphony, the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, the New World Symphony, Kronos Quartet and Los Angeles Master Choral have played solo instrumentals with her.
Many special occasions around the world have Monk as a headlining act or a guest. World Festival of Sacred Music for the Dalai Lama in Los Angeles was one such memorable event. The 2005 Carnegie's Zankel Hall's music marathon featured a stunning live performance by her. In 2012, Monk became a part of the San Francisco Symphony' American Mavericks Festival. Here she presented songs alongside the New World Symphony.
On Behalf of Nature is Monk's latest theatre piece. It is on a countrywide tour right now. It will be touring to the Edinburgh International Festival in the holiday season. Meredith Monk tickets for these shows are selling fast. If you want to attend any of her shows, make your bookings quickly.
