Details of Matthew Good Band and the Ticket Luck value
The Canadian sensation, Mathew Good Band is noted for playing alternative rock music. Their pinch-hitting music has crafted the band as a mainstay in the alternative rock genre. At present, Mathew Good Band is enjoying a status of being the Canadian Rock Music super-sensation. With a release of 4 LPs and 3 EPs within a period of 15 years, the great Good Band has paid their dues to make the music industry even bigger.
Hailed from Coquitlam, British Columbia - The Mathew Good band started playing music in 1993. The group recorded a short demo tape which they titled Euphony. Euphony included such acoustic songs as the self-titled track, Heather's Like Sunday and Mercy Misses You. Following year saw the Good band participating in a local radio station's band competition. Fate happened to step in and the group won a prize of recording time at a local studio/school. They recorded a demo tape '15 hours on a September Thursday'. The tape featured tracks like Dancing Invisible, Second Sun and Push. The 15 hours on a September Thursday landed a deal with EMI Publishing.
The next year in 1995, Mathew Good Band embarked on Canada Tour. Having illuminated several music halls across Canada, the band returned into the studios but split up. Mathew Band, however, continued recording new music with a brand new band of backing musicians. The new Mathew Good Band featured Geoff Lloyd on bass, Charlie Quitana on drums, Dave Genn on guitar and of course Mathew himself. The new lineup recorded their debut full-length 'Last of The Ghetto Astronauts'. The album came out in the market in 1996 and became a great accomplishment.
In order to promote their debut album, Last of The Ghetto Astronauts - Mathew Good Band set out on a nationwide tour. But, their popularity across the border encouraged them to play concerts in the United States as well. The album also spawned a single Alabama Motel Room which became a super hit song. It stayed on the playlist of the CFOX radio for 18 months and helped sell 25,000 copies of the album. The success of their debut album signaled the beginning of Mathew Good Band's long-sought music career. The band proved their standout status, almost celebratory throughout the '90s.
Upon realizing their growing popularity across the United States - Mathew Good Band inked a lucrative deal with Private Music, USA. The Label issued the group's Raygun EP to critical praise. The release of EP turned things even smoother for the band to become Underdogs. They collaborated with Wayne Livesey which added to their recognition. Things picked up when the Private Record's parent company merged with Windham Hill Records. The Windham Hill Records was doing New Age music which provided even greater opportunities for the band to grow.
Several eyebrows were raised on MGB when the band performed before a group of A&R reps, John Reid and Dave Porter among the crowd. As the 21st century dawned, Mathew Good Band received even greater success, popularity and acclaim. The band is currently performing sold-out audiences across the country.
