The orchestra made its debut in Popcorn Superhet Receiver whose west coast premiere ran for two days of sold out shows at the Herbst Theatre. The same year, the orchestra teamed up with John Vanderslice to arrange and perform his debut record "White Wilderness" which was released on Dead Oceans. Magik*Magik was the part of 2011 and 2012 Stern Groove Festival which aimed to make children learn about orchestral conducting and also performed with How To Dress Well in Chicago, during the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival.
In the last two years, the band went on to perform and collaborate with many successful artists which included The Walkmen, Zoe Keating and was a part of festivals like Other Minds. The orchestra also played alongside Death Cab For Cutie on their 27-date tour in 2012. In 2013, Magik*Magik provided a solo violinist who performed with Scott Gagner, a string quartet and original arrangements for the forthcoming LP of Kevin Toqe. The orchestra also provided 40-piece choir who performed at Transcendent Pathways for the world premiere of Agony/Ecstasy. With Zola Jesus, the orchestra's string quartet went on a four-date west coast tour in September 2013.
