Madball
Madball is a legendary band from New York's that has been leading the Hardcore bands since 1988. The band specializes in the hardcore music that has left a lasting effect on the audiences in many parts of the country.
Madball consisted of Agnostic Front's vocalist Roger Miret on bass, Vinnie Stigma on guitar, Will Shepler on drums, and vocalist Freddy Cricien, Roger Miret's younger brother.
Originated in the late 1980s, as a side-project of Agnostic Front, with Freddy Cricien, Roger Miret (younger brother of Agnostic front man) on vocals, it slowly became one of the most popular hardcore bands of America that is also recognized world wide for their fantastic musical acts.
In the past years they have made many performances on stage with other hardcore and metal bands of America and still continue to carry forward their tradition. The band has inspired several other popular bands like Hatebreed and Terror, is a good example.
Over the years, the band has gone through a tremendous change with time. Started with a few songs with Agnostic Front, the band slowly charmed the audience and increased their fan base by making some really good music.
Having done first few gigs at small places, Madball released their first EP Ball of Destruction EP in 1989. Soon after that, Matt Henderson joined the band, who had years of experience of playing in regional shows in and around the New York area.
By then, they recorded and released another EP Droppin' Many Suckers for Wreckage Records. Roger Miret left the band one year later and was replaced by bassist Hoya Roc.
The brought a new life to the band as they were signed by Roadrunner Records in 1994 where they released a pair of full-length albums. These include Set It Off in 1994 and Demonstrating My Style in 1996. Besides their studio work, the band toured steadily and built a sizeable fan base outside their hometown.
1995 saw the band participating in the N.Y.H.C. Documentary and a super hit performance on Coney Island High. Next came Look My Way in early 1998 followed by Hold It Down in 2000. Although after that the band remained inactive two years, they came back to the studio at the end of 2002.
The resulted productions were better than ever as the band provided their fans with utterly delightful musical treats of Best of Madball, the EP N.Y.H.C. and Legacy, their three outstandingly made albums released back to back in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Madball also rules the live music scene with many unforgettable performances. Their live acts with bands such as Agnostic Front, Vietnom, Bulldoze, Resistance and H2O left the fans cheering hysterically.
Besides this, Madball came up with 2007 masterpiece Infiltrate The System that has gone very well with the audience. Another treat for Madball fans came in the form of Best of Madball that is their greatest hits compilation with the best of their music along with two previously unreleased tracks.
N.Y.H.C, a documentary film directed by Frank Pavich, about the mid-90s New York hardcore scene also carried honorable mention to the band.
The current lineup of Freddy Cricien, Hoya Roc, Mitts and Rigg Ross have been touring and recording for Madball with full zeal and zest.
