Born in 1959, Loretta Lynn Morgan who goes by the name of Lorrie Morgan is from Nashville, Tennessee. Lorrie's father himself was a band member and after his passing away in 1975, she took over the group. Aged sixteen, Lorrie carried on her father's legacy, performing gigs locally. After the band disbanded, Lorrie joined a group named 'Little Roy Wiggins'. The singer spent majority of time in the early 70s as a demo singer and receptionist at the Acuff-Rose Music. During this time she also wrote several songs. Through a friend's contact, Lorrie Morgan was able to make an appearance on Ralph Emery's television show 'Opry Star Spotlight'. During 1978, Lorrie recorded a minor hit. It was titled 'I'm completely satisfied with you', which the singer co-wrote with her late father. Before scoring another minor hit in 1984, 'Don't Go Changing', Lorrie was seen touring across Nashville nightclubs. The singer also became the youngest artist to join Grand Ole Opry.
Her minor hits captured the attention of big record labels such as RCA Records, whom she signed with in 1988. Lorrie's debut studio album was released a year later. It was named 'Leave the Light On'. The record produced Billboard 100 charting hits, 'Dear Me' (No. 9), 'Trainwreck of Emotion' (No. 20), 'Five Minutes' (No. 1), and 'Out of Your Shoes' (No. 2) and 'He Talks to Me' (No. 4). The album also ranked at number 6 on Billboard 100 and was awarded a 4.5 out of 5 star rating by Allmusic. Lorrie's sophomore album 'Something in Red' was an even bigger hit. It received platinum certification, peaking at number 8 on Billboard 200 and number 13 on Canadian RPM Country Albums. Throughout her career, the artist has released 12 studio albums, a compilation album, 10 live records, 17 music videos and 38 singles. Her most recent release is 'Dos Divas' in collaboration with country artist Pam Tillis. The album has been released by Red River Entertainment and consists of 14 tracks. The record has made its way to Billboard 200, presenting popular duets, 'I Am a Woman', 'I Know What You Did Last Night', 'Dos Divas', 'I'm Tired', 'Bless Their Hearts' and 'What Was I Thinkin''. It was her performance at the Bluebird Café located in Nashville, after which Pam was offered a recording contract from Warner Bros. Records.
