Details of Lorde and the Ticket Luck value
Lorde is a New Zealand born singer and songwriter who rose to fame in 2012. She was fond of music from an early age and signed with Universal Music Group at the age of thirteen. The teen artist has already caused ripples in the world of music and can be heard live, with Lorde tickets.
Eighteen year old Lorde is one of the most talked about electronica artists today. She began releasing songs and writing music with record producer Joel Little. Her first EP, The Love Club EP, was released in 2013 and contained the hugely popular song Royals, which became a massive international hit and won her two Grammy Awards. In 2013, she released her first studio album, Pure Heroine, to critical and commercial acclaim.
Lorde's story began in Takapuna in 1996 when she was born to a poet and civil engineer. Of Croatian and Irish ancestry, she discovered her love of music when she saw a drama group, thus falling in love with both acting and singing. Her mother, a poet herself, encouraged her to read books, thus helping her develop her skills as a songwriter. She went on to study at the Belmont International School when she won the talent show with her friend, Louis McDonald.
Her big break came when her father sent out her cover of Pixie Lott's Mama Do and Hillary Duff's Warwick Avenue to a number of talent scouts. She was then approached by Scott Maclachlan who signed her onto Universal Music Group at the age of thirteen.
At Universal, her singing skills were improved by vocal coach Frances Dickinson, following which she began working with a number of songwriters. In 2011, she was paired up with songwriter and record producer Joel Little, famous in the world of music as the former lead singer of Goodnight Nurse. The duo recorded an EP at Morningside, Auckland's Golden Age Studios in just three weeks.
Dubbed The Love Club EP, it propelled her to fame after it was downloaded sixty thousand times in a short time. Following the good response, the EP was then released commercially by Universal. It was certified platinum in New Zealand and seven times platinum in Australia.
In 2013, she released a second EP, titled Tennis Court EP and followed it up with her debut album. The album reached the top five in Canada, Ireland, UK and Norway, and ranked first in Australia and New Zealand. In the US, the album ranked third on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum in a short amount of time.
Her song, Royals, reached the top of the US Alternative Songs chart and made her the first female solo artist to top the chart since Tracy Bonham. Royals also topped the US Hot 100 and Lorde became the youngest artist to top the chart and the first solo New Zealand artist to do so.
The song won a boatload of awards, including two Grammy Awards for “Song of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance”. The award wins made her the third youngest Grammy Award winner in history and the youngest winner and nominee from New Zealand.
With her first album selling over one and a half million copies in a few months, this New Zealand artist became a worldwide sensation. Her songs were included in the soundtrack of the movie, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. In late 2013, she signed a two and a half million dollar publishing deal with Songs Music Publishing and in 2014, she headlined at Coachella, Laneway, Lollapalooza and numerous other festivals. She also performed live during Nirvana's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, with the remaining members of the legendary rock band. Catch her live in concert in the US, after purchasing Lorde tickets.
