Grab your set of Legends of Summer tickets as soon as you can, as they are looking to sell out fast.
The two singers officially announced the initiation of the tour in February 2013, stating that they will be co-headlining a series of concerts that are set to commence in July. Scheduled to make their way throughout Toronto, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Pasadena, Vancouver, Hershey, Detroit, Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami Gardens, the Legends of Summer Tour will be performing at venues such as Rogers Center, Yankee Stadium, Soldier Field, Rose Bowl, HersheyPark Stadium, Ford Field, Fenway Park and Citizens Bank Park.
This tour is being held to promote, Justin Timberlake’s third studio release, “The 20/20 Experience” on which the artist started working in June 2012. Released in January 2013, after a six year hiatus, during which Timberlake focused on establishing an acting career, the first half release of the album sold a whopping amount of a million copies in its opening week. The album also debuted on the number one spot of the US Album Chart. Timberlake announced in mid March that the second half of “The 20/20 Experience” is scheduled to be released in November 2013.
The song that will be the highlight of the album’s promotional tour is the collaborative single by Jay-Z and Timberlake “Suit & Tie”, a song that was co-written by Timbaland, Jerome Harmon, Johnny Wilson, Jay-Z, Charles Still and James Fauntleroy. Produced by Harmon, Timberlake and Timbaland, this song was the first single that was released by the artist after his six year hiatus period. Reaching to the very top of the US iTunes Store just after a few hours of its release, “Suit & Tie” was able to debut at the 84th number on the Billboard Hot 100. The following week this single jumped to the fourth spot on this chart, with over three hundred thousand downloads sold online. It was also able to debut at the 14th number on the Billboard Pop Songs Chart and reached a figure of six thousand plays on the first day alone. This made the song the highest played song in the chart’s history by a new entrant. “Suit & Tie” debuted at the third spot on the UK Singles Chart and on the second spot of Red Lime Worldwide Top 10. It also made its way to the top of over thirteen top-ten international music charts worldwide including Denmark, South Korea, Canada, Australia and Israel, to name a few. To date, “Suit & Tie” has been certified platinum by RIAA, Music Canada and ARIA.
The single was also able to surpass the debut downloads of his 2006 release “Sexy Back” that sold an astounding amount of two hundred and fifty thousand copies in the first week alone. Due to the massive reception from the fans, Timberlake and Jay-Z were invited to perform this single at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Fans can look forward to listening to singles such as “Don’t Hold the Wall”, “Pusher Love Girl”, “Mirrors”, “Let the Groove Get In” and “Strawberry Bubblegum” apart from the obvious smashing hit “Suit & Tie”, at the touring events.
Receiving positive critic reception for his album release, Timberlake has been appreciated by The Huffington Post’s Kia Makarechi and HiFix’s Melinda Newman as “truly representing R&B to its very core, something that very few contemporary artists are able to do and achieve in present time”. They have also mentioned that “the single Suit & Tie has given audiences a lot to look forward to in November”. Surely “The 20/20 Experience” has hit the stores and charts in its entirety.
With such massive success, fans should be sure to purchase Legends of Summer tickets as soon as they can, as the space is limited.
