Details of Lecrae and the Ticket Luck value
Lecrae Moore is one of the most celebrated Christian hip-hop singers of all time. His artistic versatility extends to record producing and acting. He is also the president of the independent record label Reach Records and the non-profit organization ReachLife Ministries. With five of his recent studio albums charting on the Gospel Albums and the Top Christian Albums charts, he is being ranked among the Top Ten Christian singers of the decade.
The Grammy-winner has admitted to a troubled past, full of drinking, drug abuse and womanizing. His early life was full of challenges put forth by God, most of which he failed miserably, as he openly confesses. After a continued feeling of emptiness and a near-death experience, he decided to change his ways and become one of God's soldiers.
During his rebellious teenage years, Lecrea was exposed to rappers like the legendary Tupac. Lecrae has cited him, Scarface, Nas, DJ Quik and The Cross Movement as being most influential on his musical style. His genre has been categorized as Southern hip hop but contains strong elements of gangsta rap, crunk and hardcore hip hop.
Lecrae follows the reformed tradition of Christian theology. In the New Calvinist movement, he is considered a very influential figure. He has listed John MacArthur, John Piper, Tommy Nelson as his early Christian influences that led him to theologians like Calvin, Spurgeon and Francis Schaeffer. Lecrae calls Schaeffer his personal hero.
Moore had started singing at the juvenile detention center as a volunteer. This is where he found his first audience, who responded positively to his singing. That's when Lecrae decided he wanted to spread hope and encouragement through his music.
In 2004, he released his debut album Real Talk. The album peaked in the Top 40 at the Gospel Albums charts. Since then, he has released nine studio albums, three EPs, two mixtapes, over fifty singles and has also made guest appearances more than sixty times.
Two years later, Lecrae released his second album After the Music Stops. The album entered the Gospel Albums chart at number five. The single “Jesus Muzik” and the album were nominated for the GMA Dove Awards. His next album Rebel was released two years after the last one and it created a stir in the mainstream industry. The album topped the Gospel Albums chart and ranked at number two on the Top Christians Albums chart. Once again at the GMA Dove Awards, the album received a nomination and so did the single “Joyful Noise.”
In 2010, Lecrae released his fourth studio album, Rehab. The album was widely appreciated by critics and its chart standings brought Lecrae the big break in his career. Topping three Billboard charts, including the Gospel Albums and the Top Christian Albums, the album also peaked in the Top 20 at the Billboard 200. The album brought in nominations at the GMA Dove Awards, the Grammy Awards and the Stellar Awards.
The second part of the Rehab series was titled Rehab: The Overdose, which was released a year later as his fifth studio album. The album reached number fifteen on the Billboard 200. The track “Hallelujah” from the Deluxe Edition earned Lecrae two wins at the GMA Dove Awards. The album also won the Stellar Award in 2012.
Lecrae won a Grammy Award for his next album Gravity which was released in 2012. The album topped four charts and peaked in at number three on the Billboard 200. Lecrae received a GMA Dove Award and a Stellar Award for the album. The hit singles included “Tell the World,” “I'm Good,” and “Mayday” among others.
2014 saw Lecrae's latest and most successful work yet, his seventh studio album Anamoly. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and four other charts including the Gospel Albums chart and the Top Christian Albums chart. In just its third week, the album had sold around a hundred and forty thousand copies. The album is unique as it set the record for being the first album to top the Gospel charts and the Billboard 200.
Lecrae has become one of the most influential music artists in the Christian music scene. He has been credited as a positive role model for youngsters, due to his transition from the life of a thug, to his conversion to a religious family man. His philanthropic work has also been praiseworthy. He is currently out on a tour which will take him to major venues around the country. So grab Lecrae tickets and enjoy his soul-inspiring music, live.
