Details of Lcd Soundsystem and the Ticket Luck value
The genius of one man can dazzle an entire genre by itself. Electronic music enthusiasts find a sort of elated ecstasy in the boom-box beats & multidimensional synthesized sounds of electronic music. It can blow an entire clubhouse’s conscious into oblivion & make people sway almost hypnotically to its power. And to those who let that rhythm guide themselves, there is no better exponent than James Murphy & his electronic music project, LCD Soundsystem. The multitalented artist contributes vocals & plays drums, percussion, guitar, keyboard, piano & a variety of other instruments on the band’s albums, but he is supported live by Al Doyle, Nancy Whang, Pat Mahoney, Tyler Pope, David Scott Stone, Matt Thornley, & Gavin Russom. Since 2002, LCD Soundsystem has belted out hit after hit, & that is the reason that fans from all corners will converge at their upcoming concert to pay homage to the men who shaped the art of electronic music.
Born in 1970 in Princeton Junction, New Jersey, James Murphy showed a creative streak from his teen years. In an unrelated incident early in his career, the creative spearhead was offered a writing role for Seinfeld; & just as well for electronic music fans that he didn’t accept, for that would surely have compromised on his mastery over the musical art-form. Murphy started off on the New York scene with Falling Man (1988-89), post-hardcore act Pony (1992-94) & subsequently worked in Speedking (1995-97). During a spell as sound engineer for Six Finger Satellite, Murphy struck up a good understanding with John Maclean, and the duo adopted his DJ nickname, Death From Above, for the record company (DFA Records) they set up with the assistance of Tim Goldsworthy. “Losing My Edge” was released as a first single & after a stream of hypnotic electronic dance numbers,LCD Soundsystemcame out in 2005. The band had a thumping start, with Sound of Silver coming out in 2007. Grammy nominations highlighted the critical acclaim and followed a growing reputation as a top-class live act. After an impassioned plea to fans at a secret New York gig not to leak material for their 3rd album, LCD Soundsystem released This Is Happening in 2010. It was a phenomenal hit, & after many more collaborations with artists, the band announced plans for a split & a final concert in Madison Square Garden on April 2nd. Controversy was to follow, as LCD Soundsystem tickets sold out within milliseconds of going on sale & websites crashed as fans sought to get to the root of the unavailability problem. Murphy has blamed the fiasco on scalpers.
'Losing My Edge', centering on Murphy’s experiences as a DJ playing other people’s tracks, became an underground dance sensation, followed up by the meteoric rise of the garage rock-influenced 'Give It Up'.LCD Soundsystem not only carried the momentum forward, but also reached the #1 spot on the British Dance Charts with 'Daft Punk is Playing at My House', which received a Grammy nomination. The album was also nominated. Inspired by E2-E4, the marathon number '45:33' was released as Murphy experimented. 'All My Friends' & 'Someone Great' both became massive hits off Sound of Silver. The album received a Grammy nomination & the 2nd & 7th places on year-end album reviews by Pitchfork Media & Rolling Stone respectively. This Is Happening came out in 2009, & topped the Billboard Dance Albums list, also ending up at #10 on the Billboard 200. 'Drunk Girls' & 'I Can Change' were released as singles off the album.
LCD Soundsystem has cultivated quite a following with their high-tempo music & recordings. The band’s tour with live music masters Arcade Fire in 2007 is just one of the many live shows where the band has silenced its doubters & given its fans an interactive & pumped up session. From March 28 onwards, LCD Soundsystem perform in Terminal 5 in New York, before their farewell concert at Madison Square Garden before the band officially calls it a day.
The punch & shock value of electronically synthesized sounds is food for the soul of many music enthusiasts. Fans have been leaping at any opportunity to get their hands on LCD Soundsystem tickets, & the maddening scramble just proves the band’s creative ingenuity & their dedication to the profession. Madison Square Garden will say what many believe is a premature goodbye to LCD Soundsystem on 2nd April.
