Born on May 16, 1974, in Faenza, Ravenna, in Northern Italy, Laura Pausini is the elder daughter from the two daughters of Fabrizio Pausini and Gianna Ballardini. The album received huge success, and resulted in making her a media magnet in the Hispanic and Latin world. The song "Se Fue" from this album became a super hit in the Hot Latin Chart of Billboard, in 1995, and the Billboard hailed her as only second to Mariah Carey, and also the female singing sensation of 1994, which ultimately led her to win the Lo Nuestro prize in May, 1995, Miami, FL. She became to be known as the greatest promising Romance language singer to hit the U.S. music charts.
