Kem also managed to land on a lucrative contract with Detroit label Motown who released Kemistry to global audience.

Instead of moving forward with a typical mind frame - Kem didn't view the signing by a major label as a guarantee of success. He rather successfully managed to keep himself out of internal company politics. He, with his own promotional team, kept on creatively playing with Kemistry in new ways while introducing it in different places. Kemistry maintained an impression of being released as an independent album.

With the approach of earning success not through dumping down his music - Kem wanted to explore creative ways of displaying his art before the audience worldwide. His strategy incloding aggressive promotion worked and music buffs did would appreciate his art. The following year 2003 saw Kemistry gaining massive momentum. The album primarily contained a melodious groove spanning jazz and classic soul. It, therefore, attracted adult audiences who were anticipating a break from hip-hop and lackluster smooth jazz.
