Details of Kcrw's World Festival and the Ticket Luck value
After having fifteen successful seasons, KCRW is now joining forces with Los Angeles Philharmonic Association to bring forward the sixteenth edition of KCRW's World Festival. This year, the festivities will kick off on June 22, 2014 and come to an end on September 28, 2014 after six magical nights of celebrating World Music. The events will take place at the Hollywood Bowl and will feature some of the major league musicians from around the globe. KCRW's World Festival tickets are on sale for general public and the event is drawing nearer. This year's lineup of KCRW's World Festival will feature the likes of Royksopp & Robyn, Janelle Monae, Caetano Veloso, Devendra Banhart, Iron & Wine, Jimmy Cliff and several more.
First of the six World Festival events will take place on June 22, 2014 and will feature Janelle Monae as the headlining act. Other acts for the night will include Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and Roman GianArthur. The event will be opened by the soul singer GianArthur and will have Suen Kuti lead his father's last band, Egypt 80. Janelle Monae, another major feature of the event, has caused a stir ever since the release of her debut album. Her works within the genres of hip-hop, R&B, sci-fi and funk have earned her six Grammy Award nominations and makes her a perfect addition to the lineup.
The June 29 event will have viewers partying out in the open with Royksopp & Robyn, as they bring their Do It Again Tour to their North American fans this year. Both of these acts have a history of performing together on a number of occasions, and this year they look forward to bringing all the live fun to their supporters in KCRW's World Festival. Additional artists for the night will also be announced in near future.
Fans of the reggae music will get a dose of their favorite genre on July 20 when reggae veteran, Jimmy Cliff, takes the stage with hits like 'The Harder they Come' and 'Many Rivers to Cross'. Joining him in the lineup for that night will be Shaggy, who will make his fans dance to the hit numbers like 'Mr. Bombastic'. The night will be hosted by DJ Jeremy Sole and will be opened by Don Carlos.
Fifth event of the World Festival will take place on September 21, 2014 with DJ Frosty opening the night. The event will feature the whimsical numbers by the musical genius, Devendra Banhart. Classically trained musician, Andrew Bird, will bring his own flavor of pop music with the elements of gypsy, folk and rock. The event will be headlined by none other than eleven times Grammy Award winning Brazilian act, Caetano Veloso. Veloso is a celebrated musician who has accomplished both as a singer, a poet, a guitarist and a composer.
The final and sixth event of the festival will take place on September 28, 2014 and will have Pixies taking the stage as the headlining act. Pixies have been in the music industry for more than three decades now, and there is still no slowing them down. Influencing the likes of Radiohead and Nirvana, Pixies became a household name all over mainland Europe while enjoying a good amount of fame in their home country as well. In the past, the group has experimented with several styles of music and this coming September, they are ready to rock their fans at the Hollywood Bowl. Pixies will also be joined by Gogol Bordello and Cat Power, who will be making an appearance for one night only.
The forthcoming edition of KCRW's World Festival will further the initiative of celebrating music from across the globe. Each year this festival brings forward some of the leading names from various markets right in front of the fortunate North American crowd. Come be a part of the celebration, and experience the musical diversity right here at the Hollywood Bowl.
