Canadian pop star Jonny Monroe Craig is all set to blaze the crowds with his next concert. The talented singer and guitarist started his career in music very early at the age of 15. After auditioning for several bands and being rejected by all of them, Craig formed one on his own in 2000 by the name of Westerhalts. The following year he released his first ever song called ‘Change, Leisure and Retirement’ which unfortunately did not generate a big enough response to bring Craig into the spotlight.
However, in 2002 with a stroke of luck, Craig joined the pop punk band the Ghost Runner on Third as the lead singer. The band’s debut EP called ‘Speak Your Dreams’ was released in 2005 which received positive reviews all over and brought Craig the much needed rise to fame. Allmusic praised Craig’s talent by claiming him to be ‘the band's secret weapon, a passionate vocalist. There's not a bad track to be found here, but Craig tends to outshine his band mates throughout’.
Later in 2007, the artist left the group and joined Dance Gavin Dance, which he also named himself. The band released an EP ‘Whatever I Say is Royal Ocean’ and two full length albums ‘Downtown Battle Mountain’, both all of which were widely appreciated. However, unfortunately his journey with the band was short-lived and he left in 2008.
Luckily for Craig, when he parted ways with Dance Gavin Dance, the band called A Skylit Drive was missing its lead singer. Craig gladly filled in and toured with the band, though the group made it pretty clear that this substitution was only temporary. Only two weeks after that, Craig joined Emarosa, another band lacking a lead singer in 2008. He released two albums with them namely ‘Relativity’ and ‘Emarosa’ in 2008 and 2010 respectively. During the same time, he also worked with Isles and Glaciers on their album ‘The Hearts of Lonely People’.
Due to a surprising turn of events, in 2010 Dance Gavin Dance announced that it would be reuniting with Craig to work on an album. Together they came up with ‘Downtown Battle Mountain II’ in 2011 which did fairly well in the market. Meanwhile Craig had already started his solo music career in 2009 and had been successful in acquiring a distinct recognition of his own.
After working with several bands and gaining a lot of experience, Craig felt that he was now mature enough as a musician to work independently. He released his solo album ‘A Dream Is a Question You Don’t Know How to Answer’ in 2009, ‘Live at Bamboozle 2010’ and recently ‘The Blue Print for Going in Circles’ this year. All his albums have been appreciated by both the fans and the critics and have successfully established Craig as a famous alternative rock, soul, and post-hardcore singer.
Moreover, Craig has recently revealed via his social media page that he will be releasing a solo EP comprising of seven songs in the coming future. All his fans can keep their fingers crossed for this one as it will surely be a treat for them and will not leave them disappointed. But until the EP is out, you can catch him live in concert by getting Jonny Craig Tickets now. Be sure to attend this one and be ready to be blown away by the maestro’s dazzling performances.
