Lately, Jonathan Biss has been involved in a project of examining works done by Schumann and bringing them into the limelight. Jonathan believes that Schumann’s music is “deeply personal and achingly vulnerable” and hence it is extremely inspiring, particularly to music enthusiasts. He has started a series of concerts under the title of Schumann: Under the Influence, with the idea of bringing to life the composer’s legacy. It appears that Schumann’s and Jonathan’s work tends to follow the same microscopic realities. They both delve deep into poetic, obsessive, fragile, whimsical and evocative fibers of music.
