As a child, he was always ready for the extra prank or the opportunity to create whimsical experiences for his friends and family. Years gave him the strength and the power of laughter. His early education at Eastern Michigan University was heavily hit due to his insatiable thirst for comedy and night clubs. His class presence was deteriorating at the price of late night gig activity. His first break was at the Main Street Comedy Showcase on the University of Michigan campus as an emcee. He was simply declared an instantaneous smart dude roaming around on college.

After graduating from the university, the comedian immediately started following his dream and got himself involved in all sorts of comedy gigs around town. He started his career by touring local universities and colleges and performing live to all sorts of audiences. He had toured over 80 colleges in a quick span of 4 years with repeated requests of revisits from many of the universities that fell in love with the comic. His themes at the college shows had a direct connectivity with the audiences. Since he had recently graduated his jokes and comments revolved around the pretty girls he chased, the drinking activities that took place and the indispensable achievement of failing classes. The audiences knew exactly where the comic was coming from and gave him applauses that he even stated in various interviews as well.

It was during this time where he first recorded his comedy CD called Kid with a Cape. One of his greatest achievements is winning fans instantaneously as well as triple star ratings for his series Last Comic Standing. The show was an immediate hit and became a romance for millions of viewers all over the world. John Heffron stood the test of time and was able to convince the audiences that he is one spectacular comedian that is ready for the big time. The immediate success gave him the prestige and the honor that the actor was longing for. NBC immediately signed off on a contract and the comedian found himself delved into the marketing campaigns and short term contracts revolving around presence at social clubs and publicity stints across the nation. In a recent interview though, John Heffron did state that his show had given him some great moments as well as some moments that he would easily want to forget.

The years have worked well for him in honing on his skill set and his mannerism of pleasing and enticing audiences from different backgrounds as well. At age 25, Heffron decided to further pursue his education and graduated in communications and psychology. He also started working on a radio show in Detroit. In addition, John has performed at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festivals in Montreal and Bermuda, as well as the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen. All of these activities were proving out as great stepping stones for the young and energetic comedian.

Soon after these events, John Heffron took on a completely different role of an entrepreneur and partnered with Joel Zimmer and created a card game called That Guy. The game was an instantaneous hit and grew to be a game enjoyed by all even the high class actors of Hollywood. His outclass game also got him in the 2001 hot 100 issue of Entrepreneur magazine.
