Belushi jumped on the bandwagon to stardom with his role in the hilarious sit come, “According to Jim.” Running for eight years from 2001 to 2009, with one hundred and eighty two episodes, the ABC hit comedy was a family time favorite. Belushi recently joined hands with Larry Joe Campbell, his friend and co-star in “According to Jim” to set up “Jim Belushi and the Board of Comedy.” Another four talented performers well known in the comedy circle were added to the Board of Comedy. Jim Belushi a native of Chicago Illinois, went to Southern Illinois University and graduated with a degree in Speech, Education and Theatre. Following his passion for action, in 1979 Belushi went to Hollywood to earn a name for himself. His first assignment was a role in the television series, “Who's Watching the Kids”. Although it didn't get Belushi very famous, he did his role well enough to land a spot in “Working Stiffs”, starring alongside Michael Keaton. If there were any doubts about his acting, he certainly quelled them all as his Hollywood career took off after this signing. Equally at ease playing intense and comic roles, Belushi has acted alongside Demi Moore in “About Last Night”, with Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Red Heat” and, next to Patrick Wilson and Katherine Heigl in “North of Hell”.
The Board of Comedy will feature many other names, who are also talented artists. Apart from Belushi, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad Morris, Robert Belushi and Jon Barinholtz will be the other performers. They are all alumni's of the famous Second City theatre in Chicago. Larry Campbell co-starred next to Belushi in “According to Jim”. Robert Belushi also cut his teeth in the humor genre at the Second City theatre. He went to Los Angeles, from where he acquired his university education, to work in film and television. He has appeared with his father in the TV shows “According to Jim” and “The Defenders”.
Brad Morris a veteran comedian, is also an alum of the Second City theatre. A very prominent performer there, Morris went on to act in sit coms. He played roles in “Cougar Town”, “Modern Family”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “The Office”.
