Jewtopia
JEWTOPIA is a comic play with a great success in the United States from the year of 2001. The show had always been a success and millions of people have watched it till now.
It had created a record in the great cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Florida. Jewtopia was premiered in New York on October 21, 2004, where it still holds the record of the longest-running comedy after Los Angeles.
It is really very interesting to know the details of the origination of Jewtopia, which was created by Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson. They were the struggling actor/writers doing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles.
They met in the year of 2001 and decided to produce a play, by writing and even acting in the same show. The show had got an immediate recognition and they were much appreciated for the concept and originality and the good quality humor in it.
They had 300 straight sold out performances in Los Angeles, and after that had a partnership with veteran Broadway producer Bill Franzblau to bring JEWTOPIA to New York. JEWTOPIA proved to be a tremendous hit and sold out audiences and recouped it's $625,000 capitalization within 20 weeks.
Fogel and Wolfson were approached by Warner Books for writing a book, based on the concept of the show. They had imagined writing and designed a wild and over-the-top full color illustrated coffee-table style book of Jewish humor.
The book was named Jewtopia: The Chosen Book for the Chosen People, that hit bookstands nationwide last holiday season and led to Bryan and Sam appearing on ABC the View in December, 2006.
Fogel and Wolfson's had signed a contract with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and are in a process of producing their completed film adaptation of JEWTOPIA. The film is being produced by Tucker Tooley, and will be directed by Tony-Winner John Rando.
The New York Times had declared that JEWTOPIA, as one of the most successful off-Broadway productions of the last decade, on August 8th, 2007. Jewtopia has been seen by over 500,000 people across North America and Canada with productions in New York, L.A, Chicago, Florida, Toronto, Tampa and Rochester!
The World of Jewtopia is Bryan and Sam's latest show on television, which is a 90 minute one act show starring Bryan and Sam that combines scenes from their show, stand-up comedy, pieces from their bestselling book, JEWTOPIA: The Chosen Book for the Chosen People, and a shinning multimedia presentation for an outrageously funny, one of a kind event.
They have been successful in presenting their ideas in a comical way in the theatrical venues, at speaking engagements and even charity benefits across the country and Canada over the past year.
