Jesse A. McCartney is an American pop singer and Daytime Emmy-nominated actor. McCartney earned his early fame as a member of the boy band Dream Street in the early 2000s.Later on, He was successful in starting his solo career by appearing on the television series Summerland and releasing a super hit music album, Beautiful Soul. On September 19, 2006, McCartney released his newest album, Right Where You Want Me.

Biography
Early life and career
Jesse McCartney was born in New York City to Scot McCartney and Ginger Sarber. McCartney is a born-again Christian. The McCartneys relocated to Ardsley, Westchester County, New York in 1988. McCartney grew up and lived there until 2004. He has one brother and one sister.

Music career
In the beginning, the American pop boy band Dream Street was joined by McCartney. He remained its member from 1999 to 2002. His initial experience with this band proved to be a stepping stone for his solo career. With their debut CD, the group earned a gold record and broke up while touring with Aaron Carter.

McCartney started work on a solo career with a local band when he was just sixteen years old. The local band features musicians Dillon Kondor (guitar), Peter Chema (bass), Katie Spencer (keyboards), Alex Russek (drums), Karina LaGravinese (background vocals) and Sharisse Francisco (background vocals). Ginger McCartney and Sherry Goffin Kondor were in the management of this local band. They co-produced McCartney?s first album, Beautiful Soul.

McCartney was successful in releasing his first solo EP in July of 2003. Three songs: Beautiful Soul, Don't You and Why Don't You Kiss Her were featured in the album. He performed a duet with Anne Hathaway, Don't Go Breaking My Heart in 2004. This duet is featured on the Ella Enchanted soundtrack.

Beautiful Soul is McCartney?s first full-length solo album. It took almost two years for its making until it was released later that year, on September 28. Four songs co-written by McCartney are featured in the album. It also includes songs written by such heavy weights as Desmond Child and Chris Braide. The title song reached #2 on AOL Music and the Beautiful Soul music video performed well on MTV's Total Request Live. It has been voted into the top 10 fifty times, and peaked at #4. The album has achieved platinum status with the sale over 1.5 million records.

After the album's release, McCartney will launch a new tour. The new album has also been made available for purchase at Yahoo Music in MP3 format. His management has confirmed that Jesse is in studios again writing and recording for his third album.

Acting career
An acting career has also been pursed by McCartney. He has enjoyed playing J.R. Chandler on the television soap opera All My Children from 1998 to 2001. He has the honor of being nominated for a Daytime Emmy as an Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for the role, in both 2001 and 2002.

Jesse McCartney played Bradin Westerly on the short-lived WB series Summerland In 2004 and 2005. It was the top summer opener in WB history.

Jesse McCartney will star in the film Keith, which is currently scheduled for a 2007 release. One of his most memorable roles was for Roxas in the US and UK release of the video game Kingdom Hearts II in 2006.

McCartney also guest starred as himself on an episode of the WB comedy What I Like About You. Performing his hit single, Right Where You Want Me, McCartney appeared as himself on an 12th episode of All My Children. He guest starred in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody episode, Rock Star in the House as himself on September 18, 2005. In an upcoming episode of Hannah Montana, he will be appearing as Hannah Montana's boyfriend.
