The band has produced fourteen studio albums and ten other live and compilation album over an impressive history of around four decades. The roots of the band go back to 1967 when it started as a band “The Army” under bassist Steve Fossen. Later, it evolved as “White Heart” and eventually it came to be known as just “Heart” in early 1970s, with the addition of Ann and Nancy Wilson.
Heart also included the legendary guitarist Roger Fisher and together this lineup emerged as an official band in 1974 in Canada. Vancouver became Heart’s home of numerous shows and performances. The band’s debut album “Dreamboat Annie” was launched in Canada in 1976. Within a few months, it sold thousands of copies in Canada and later it was launched in the US as well. Within days, the album reached number seven on Billboard 200 chart, spawning two hit singles “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man”.
Entering into a contract with the Portrait Records, Heart released their second album “Little Queen” in 1977. The hit single “Barracuda” form the album climbed the charts and peaked at number eleven. Followed by this massive hit; came another platinum certified studio release “Magazine” in 1978. The album gave the hit single “Heartless” to the public which helped the band to prove their artistry to their listeners. In the same year, the band launched another acclaimed masterpiece “Dog and Butterfly” that went double platinum after peaking at number seventeen on Billboard 200 chart.
Their self-titled album released in 1985 was a huge commercial success. With five top ten hit singles, the album topped the charts and sold more than five million records. By now, the band was known as an established rock band fronted by the two sisters.
With their thirteenth studio album “Red Velvet Car”, Heart made a triumphant return, hitting the top ten charts and restoring their historic position. Their most recent album “Fanatic” came out in 2012 and the following year saw their induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With the start of their summer season, Heart lines up with the very famous Jason Bonham during their Heartbreaker tour.
Jason Bonham, the son of the Led Zeppelin’s drummer John Bonham, has eloquently followed his father’s footsteps and continued his legacy. He was exposed to music and other renowned musicians at a very young age and by the time he was four, he could play the drums quite impressively. At seventeen, Jason joined the band Air Race and successfully played with the band in their albums such as “Light of Shaft”. Later, he moved to the band Virginia Wolf and was the drummer in the band’s 1986 self-titled album and 1987 release “Push”. After the death of his father in 1980, Jason also joined the legendary band Led Zeppelin’s at their reunion in 1988 and contributed his skills to Jimmy Page’s studio album “Outrider”.
In 1989, Jason formed the music group “Bonham” and the band launched their debut album “The Disregard of Timekeeping”. The album went gold and in 1992 Bonham released their second studio album “Mad Hatter”. After the band split up due to unknown reasons, Jason accompanied many other artists like Paul Rodgers. Jason’s solo projects “In the Name of My Father- The Zepset” and “When You See the Sun” were released in 1997 after his father was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. In 2004, Jason teamed up with UFO and played in their two albums. One of the most memorable performances by Jason is when he performed in London along with Led Zeppelin’s surviving members in 2007.
