Details of Janine Brito and the Ticket Luck value
When it comes to stand –up comedy, Janine Brito stands out as one of the most prominent comedians from Bay Area. Recognized as one of the seven funniest people in town by 7x7 Magazine, Janine Brito with her daring voice has made it to the upcoming San Francisco's biggest comedy festival. Brito is among the dozen of the brilliant stand-up comedians who will be featured in the The SF Sketchfest Dozen. If you are craving for a hearty laugh with Brito's very own version of alternative comedy, get your hands on the Janine Brito tickets now.
Hailing from Florida, Janine Brito went to Saint Louis for business degree from Washington University after completing her high school studies from Kentucky. Passing out from Washington University as a business graduate, Brito stayed in Saint Louis and kicked off her career as a comedian. Although during university days she was an active member of all the labor and student right movements, her initial comedic ventures weren't focused on politics at all. It was when she moved to Oakland because of the city's reputation of nurturing progressive comics, that she shifted her focus on identity politics and went on to take more risks by adopting the signature androgynous style in her acts.
Came 2008 and Brito moved to Bay Area, a fortunate turn in her career that let her meet her mentor-to-be, W. Kamau Bell from Totally Biased who took her to be his 'comedy daughter' further polishing her skills. The two later joined fellow Bay Area comic, Nator Green, in 2011 to kick start the “Laughter Against the Machine,” a comedy tour. With three fearlessly though-provoking comedians doing live shows across the nation at all the political hotspots, Laughter Against the Machine was a hit and is now under the process of being turned into a documentary which is set to be released in early 2014.
In the alternate comedy scene, Brito is a rising star whose comedy offers audiences with something fresh to think about and enjoy. Far away from tired stereotypes and tropes, her comedy is best described by Feministing as 'a punch in the face of convention.” She became a part of FX's comedy series “Toltally Biased with W. Kamau Bell on his invitation to join the writers' panel in 2012. In addition to writing, she is also an accomplished on-air correspondent when it comes to the controversial subjects like war on women, LGBTQ athletes and Miss Fire Island. She is also the winner of the SF Sketchfest Women Comedy Competition in 2009 and earned the Silver Nail Award at the Rooftop Comedy 2010. In 2011, East Bay Express named Brito as the “Best Comedian with a Message.”
Among her few last comedy performances include Bridgetown Comedy Festival of Portland, SXXSW, Glasgow International Comedy Festival, Sketchfest, Moontower Comedy and Oddity fest and the Women in Comedy Festival. With an instantly likeable personality, Brito is sweet, adorable and charming woman whose funny one-liners about gender, sexuality and race are popular with all groups, be it lesbians, non-lesbians, LGBT community and any other. Snarky most of the times, this sarcastic women has got a lot of comedic talent up her sleeves that comes straight from 80s. Her comedy offers audiences a refreshing departure from the always stalked about white, gay, male, straight narrative.
Apart from her comedic flair, the thing that stands her out in the league of comedian is her edgy fashion sense and sartorial choices. Donning her typical stage uniform consisting of jeans, vest and necktie, her style screams Banana Republic. This along with her distinctive ways and comedy style has made her a favorite with audience and critics alike. With just few appearances on the Totally Biased, Brito has won over young and hipster audience who love and enjoy her comedy despite her androgynous persona in public. Called by The Huffington Post as unique and hysterical, Brito makes for the best entertainment option. Fans can catch her live on stage with her quirky and genuine version of comedy by getting the Janine Brito tickets in advance.
