Tagged as a new face of live music, the Hangout Music Festival earned a stature that paved way for a proceeding each year.The 2011 Hangout Music Festival came back the next year. The summer became hotter than before with a lineup including names of Elctronica like Pretty Lights, My Morning Jacket, Beats Antique,Widespread Panic, Bassnectar and STS9. More so, the alternative tradition and sound was kept alive by Warren Haynes, Easy Star All-Stars, Greensky Bluegrass, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Brandi Carlile, Soja, Railroad Earth. The rocking side became heavy with Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips, The Avett Brothers, Motorhead, Primus, Dead Confederate and Paul Simon alongside a lot of contemporary rock outfits. Michael Franti and Spearhead, Girl Talk and Matisyahu returned to the 2011 show after their feature presentations at the inaugural.
