Gavin Degraw is Platinum selling rock singer and song writer, born on 14 February, 1977, in South Fallsburg, New York. His siblings were also in to music industry. Neeka, his elder sister, who is now married having three children, also worked with music, but she didn't get much fame though. His elder brother, Joey is also a singer and a song writer. Joey also played guitar and sung with him during his tours. He has toured with the bands like Maroon 5, The Allman Brothers band, Jason Mraz, Butterfly Boucher, Marc Broussard and Barenaked Ladies.

Like most of the singers, Gavin's music career also started off from local clubs. He used to perform in the local clubs and used to attract a sound number of attendees. Later on, when his song "I don't want to be" was chosen for a popular TV series "one tree hill", gave him the fame that he deserved. That song helped Degraw make a sound fan base and his popularity amongst fans was proved when his song was sung by different contestants on American and Australian Idol. Soon after he got enough awareness among fans his songs started shine up on different charts and radio plays. Songs like "Chariot", "Follow Through" and "We belong together" were highly appraised by the fans and later one was also featured in Tristan and Isolde that was released in 2006.

His first ever album came out in the year 2001 with the name of "Gavin Live". His second highly acclaimed album came out two years later in 2003, and later on Gavin released an acoustic version of this album with the name of "Chariot Stripped" in the year 2004.

After the year 2004, his fame raised more and he started making appearances on the shows like "Ellen DeGeneres Show", "Tonight show with Jay Leno" and "Live with Regis and Kelly". Moreover he was also seen singing his song "I don't want to be" on a TV series "One tree hill". He also made quite a number of videos of his songs like "Chariot" and "I don't want to be" etc. He also appeared on "DR's Store Juleshow" on its Christmas edition in the year 2005. He performed his three famous songs on the concert namely "I don't want to be", "Chariot" and "White Christmas".

Degraw started recording his second album on 1st September 2006. However there wasn't any specific release date for the album. But on Degraws official site it was mentioned that album will be released in this fall. But it didn't, nor did the track listing or album title. Nevertheless official release date now for his next album has been announced that is 1st April, 2008. And the first single from that album came out a month back on 5th of the February. The title of the song was "In love with a girl".

On strippedmusic.com he has recorded a cover of Leon Russell's song called "A Song for you" along with that he has recorded quite a number of his songs such as "Belief", "Chariot", "Meaning", "Follow Through", "I Don't Want To Be.
