Gabriel Kahane is a famous American singer, songwriter and composer from Venice Beach, California who is currently residing in New York City. He is best known as a composer in a number of musicals, most popular of them being Craiglistlieder which premiered in 2006. Born to conductor and concert pianist Jeffrey Kahane, he went on to study music at the New England Conservatory. Following that, he went on to study at Brown University. It was here that his career began and he wrote his first musical. He also began performing in live concerts where many see him live through Gabriel Kahane tickets.
Not only does Gabriel Kahane compose music for many a famous musical but he also performs his original music live all over the US. His latest musical is February House, commissioned by the Public Theater. During the 2010 to 2011 season, he performed live with Alisa Weilerstein, a cellist, as a duo, performing his original music.
In 2011, Gabriel Kahane released the hit album, Where Are The Arms through 2nd StoryS Sound Records to much critical and commercial acclaim. In the world of theatre, he has distinguished himself for work with Les Freres Corbusier, a theatre located in New York City, as its musical director. He has been responsible for directing works such as Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant. He has worked on musicals for the Public Theater in New York City and the Signature Theater in Arlington, Virginia.
