Details of Frankie Ballard and the Ticket Luck value
Frankie Ballard is one of the rising stars on the country music scene in the US. The artist hails from Battle Creek and is credited as being one of Michigan's best country-pop artists. With his second album Sunshine & Whiskey hitting the shelves in early 2014, he is touring nationwide in support of the album.
The country singer had an inclination towards music early in life. His father, an avid Elvis Presley fan, used to sing many of his songs and Ballard would join in excitedly even at the young age of five. Singing became a passion, and he recalls that music was a safe haven where he would escape to every time he played the guitar or sang a song.
Ballard got his first guitar when he was eighteen. He used to lock his room and play the guitar for hours, learning the basics while focusing on singing the songs. The country singer cites Bob Seger, Howlin' Wolf and Jerry Reed as influences. Within a year Ballard was out playing gigs and performing in blues bands over the weekends. His musical ventures increased rapidly as he started to play more than two hundred nights a year. He would travel within a three hundred mile radius, often making trips to Nashville, Tennessee.
Luck favored him when he participated in the singing competition, Next Big Star, held by the renowned country singer Kenny Chesney in 2008. He managed to win the regional competition for Michigan and his breakthrough came when he opened up for Chesney on his Michigan tour dates. He was appreciated by Chesney's fans and critics, and was noticed by music agents, who put in a good word for him. That, coupled with Chesney's appreciation, landed him a recording contract with Reprise Records and a publishing deal with Sony ATV.
In spring 2009, Ballard moved to Nashville and collaborated with producer Michael Knox on his debut album. By next year, he released his first single “Tell Me You Get Lonely” which charted in the Top 40. Following that, he released another single, “A Buncha Girls,” which climbed up in the Top 30. In the following months, Ballard released his self-titled debut album. It was well-received and sold more than ten thousand copies. At the Billboard Top Heatseekers, the album reached the top ten.
After his first album, Ballard started touring as an opening act for many renowned country singers including Chesney, Taylor Swift and Bob Seger. 2014 saw the release of Ballard's second album, Sunshine & Whiskey. The album was preceded by the titular single “Sunshine & Whiskey” and the gold certified “Helluva Life.” Both singles landed in the top ten of the US Hot Country and the US Country Airplay charts. The album itself peaked in the top ten of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and in the Top 40 at the Billboard 200. The album has so far sold around forty thousand copies.
Frankie Ballard is a promising country singer who has slowly carved a niche for himself in the industry. Ballard is currently out on a tour to promote his second album. According to him, “the music is born on the road,” and he will live true to these words by touring nationwide with stops at major cities. So grab Frank Ballard tickets and enjoy his blend of country music.
