Considerably new, Five Fingers Death Punch is a heavy metal US band. Their sound is honest, brutally heavy but not completely void of melodies. The five members include Ivan 'Ghost' Moody – Vocals, Zoltan Bathory – Guitar, Darrell Roberts – Guitar, Matt Snell - Bass Guitar, Jeremy Spencer – Drums.

After only two years of their formation, the band released their first debut album 'The Way Of The Fist' on July 31, 2007. Within a week, it broke into the Billboard 200, and hit the #2 position on Billboard's New Artist/Heetseekers chart.

Their First single, 'The Bleeding' landed in the top 40 rock radio charts, ultimately worked its way to the top 10 and remained on the radio waves for eight months. The video for the single was directed by Bradley Scott and was one of Headbangers Ball’s Top 20 videos of 2007, as voted on by the viewers. It sold over 100,000 records.

Five Fingers Death Punch, also nicknamed 5fdp or ffdp is signed to Firm Music / EMI. Originally, the band was created by ex-U.P.O. guitarist Zoltan Bathory.

He recruited former Motograter front man Ivan Moody to handle vocal duties, while two members of 80’s act W.A.S.P., Roberts and Spencer, helped round out what would become Five Finger Death Punch in 2005.

The band got their name from the “Kill Bill” movies and also from the mixed martial arts realm. It was Zoltan who came up with the name. The sound of the band can be described as a combination of blistering energy, melody and harmony.

Five Finger Death Punch has struck somewhat a solid niche between scathing metal core and rock radio and are described by their fans (lovingly referred to as “Knuckleheads”) as “true metal”. Why? Because metal over a period of time got diluted to the point you couldn’t even call it metal anymore. Thus, “metal” disappeared from the mainstream.

The hybrids, the rap, hip-hop, punk metal fusions took over, and the only survivors of the genre went way underground, the really heavy stuff, which is awesome but too extreme to reach a larger audience.

“True metal” is also the term adopted by the band. It is the first thing that you see when you go the band’s website. Their 10 songs have a nonstop barrage of thick metal riffs, screaming yet tasteful solos and rapid-fire double-bass drumming.

It’s exactly what you want from songs with titles like “The Way of the Fist,” “The Bleeding,” “A Place to Die,” “White Knuckles,” “Death Before Dishonor” and “Meet the Monster.”

These awesome musicians are complemented by the production team of Stevo “Shotgun” Bruno (Mötley Crüe, Prong), Mike Sarkisyan (Spineshank) and Logan Mader (formerly of Machine Head and Soulfly; producer/mixer of Silent Civilian’s Rebirth of the Temple).

The band just finished touring with Disturbed at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival that hit 30 cities in the U.S. and Canada between early July and late August. It consisted of many bands such as Slipknot, Disturbed, Machine Head, Dragonforce, Mastodon, 36 Crazyfists, and many others.

This festival brings together the creative team that has founded many music tours including the highly successful Vans Warped Tour and the Worldwide Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour. Live Nation was set to promote the festival nationally.

Before that FFDP headlined the Guitar Hero II second stage at the 2007 Family Values Tour followed by the Bitch We Have a Problem Tour featuring KoRn, Hellyeah - then the Indestructible Tour with Disturbed in 2008.

The band has embraced its fans on a level like few others, allowing them to select the artwork for “The Way of the Fist” and so their fan base is getting bigger and bigger. Fourteen regional fan clubs have sprung up in the United States, along with one in London.

Currently the band is out on the road for their fall headlining tour with In This Moment, Bury Your Dead, and Another Black Day. While on this tour, they have been known to perform a cover of Bad Company (song) by Bad Company (band) from the album Bad Company (album).

This tour will come to an end in the first week of December. On December 1, 2008 they will be headlining the KBPI MISTLETOE JAM in Denver
