The leading Canadian network called Family Channel returns with another sizzling season of its famous Big Ticket Summer campaign. And with the addition of two exclusive star studded concerts in Toronto and Calgary, music fans certainly have a reason to celebrate. Divided into two parts, the Family Channel Big Ticket Summer Concert is taking place in August at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto while in September at the MacEwan Hall in Calgary.
Performing in the Toronto event is the American pop rock band R5. The group comprises of the siblings Riker Lynch, Rocky Lynch, Ross Lynch along with friends Rydel Lynch and Ellington Ratliff. The rockers produced a self released EP three years ago. It was titled 'Ready Set Rock'. Its song collection was received well by the rock music enthusiasts. The musicians have released their first official EP this year. Titled 'Loud', the EP offers a fresh upbeat sound of the rock genre, which also aptly depicts the young musicians' flamboyant nature and exuberant outlook to life.
Ross Lynch's stint on the music based TV sitcom 'Austin & Ally' gave a further boost to their popularity. R5 is one of the most online viewed bands of the current generation. They have managed more than four million internet views till date. The rising music stars gave their first Canadian performance at the Big Summer Concert last year. It was met with a great response and hence, they are once again heading to perform a selection of their popular tracks on the much anticipated summer concert.
The dynamic performance of R5 will be joined by that of Tyler Shaw, the twenty year old winner of the 'MuchMusic Covers Contest 2012'. The talented Canadian singer was selected as a contestant for the competition out of thirteen thousand applicants. His audition score which was a cover of 'Invincible' by Hedley landed the young artist among the fifteen finalists of the contest. With another stunning cover song act, Shaw stepped into the final top ten of the contest and was eventually declared winner in June 2012. The young vocalist produced his original debut single 'Kiss Goodnight' the same year. The song was released under the record label MuchFACT while it was distributed through Song Music Entertainment company of Canada. With a distinct sound and an attractive music video, the song has turned out to be a big hit, especially among the younger lot of music lovers.
Audiences of Big Ticket Summer Concert in Toronto will be given a triple treat performance by the multi-talented singer, dancer and actress, Zendaya. In the past the beautiful young artist has modeled for renowned brands like Old Navy and Macy's Mervyns. She has also participated in the popular show 'Dancing with the Stars'. The performer has received immense praise and recognition for the role of 'Rocky' in the hit TV series called 'Shake it Up'. The attention landed her several offers from the cinema industry. She made appearances in films such as 'Frenemies' and 'Pixie Hollow Games'. She kicked off her solo music career with the release of the song 'Swag it out'. It was followed by the 'Swag it out tour' which again met a positive response. The charming sixteen year old now makes her first appearance at the Big Ticket Summer Concert.
Amongst other artists of the event scheduled to take place in Toronto are Victoria Duffield, Eleven Past One, Alexandra Beaton, Brittany Raymond, Victoria Baldesarra and Trevor Tordiman.
