Faith No More; the alternative rock band of the early eighties is back in the limelight with their latest tour! Faith No more has been one of the most influential rock bands of their times. They have their distinct tone of music which lends its elements from various musical yonder like heavy metal, funk, progressive rock, hip hop, hardcore punk, thrash metal, and jazz. Their formal black tie attire also sets them apart from their contemporaries.
This band has its roots in the sun city of San Francisco and was a joint collaboration of the bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist Wade Worthington, front man Mike Morris and drummer Mike Bordin. Initially it was known as Faith No Man but later it was changed into Faith No More. The band over the years has made many changes in the Lineup and the current band members include Mike Patton, Billy Gould Roddy Bottum, Mike Bordin and Jon Hudson.
Their first album was a self released record titled as “We care a Lot “in 1985. This album was not a huge success but got them a deal with Slash Records. The band, after a two year gap, released their second album “Introduce Yourself”. Their first major success came with their third album known as “The Real Thing”. This album with the famous song “Epic” became extremely popular and also got nominated for Grammy Awards. The next release of the band was “Angel Dust”; this album established them as an experimental rock band. The album was a huge success with songs like “Midlife Crisis” at the top of the rock charts. The band has released six studio albums and their last release was “Album of the Year” in year 1997. After fifteen years of its inception in 1998 “Faith No More” disbanded and all of the members got busy in their own projects.
Faith No More is undoubtedly one the dominant bands of its times. Their music is distinctively original and has a sound that is typically theirs. The band released its last studio album more than ten years ago and their songs are still used on various occasions like one of their greatest hits “Midlife Crisis “has been played in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Tony Hawk's Underground 2. EA Sports' Madden NFL and NHL also played their song "From out of nowhere”. The trailer of Street Fighter IV also features their song “Epic”. These are just a few of the many instances where their music can be heard.
The band, after so many years, has got back together and is headlining various festivals including Download Festival at Donington, England Highfield, Hurricane , Southside festivals in Germany Greenfield Festival in Switzerland, Hove Festival in Norway, Kaisaniemi Festival in Helsinki, Finland , Reading and Leeds festivals, Roskilde Festival, Burgas , Sziget festival in and Pukkelpop festival in Belgium.
