While growing up, Estrella was surrounded by several influential flamenco singers, dancers and performers, which inspired her to perform with renowned guitarist Sabicas when she was only seven years old. By sixteen, Estrella had already appeared on worldwide television, singing at International Ski Championship's opening ceremony. She managed to impress eminent artists like Peter Gabriel with her covers of 'Los Cuatro Muleros' and 'Los Pastores'. In 1997, she made her debut as a soloist at Federico Garcia Lorca's anniversary celebrations as well as at Granada's Pena de la Plateria. Later, she was invited by Juan Manuel Canizares to perform at the Grec Festival in Barcelona. She then worked in the company of distinguished stars like Carmen Linares, Martirio and Imperio Argentina when she participated in the production of Huellas de la Argentinita at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.
Estrella released her debut album 'Mi cante y un poema' (My Songs and A Poem) in 2001. Featuring popular tracks like 'Las Llamas Llegan Al Ceilo', 'Que Llegue El Domingo', 'A Que Niegas El Delirio' and 'Alcazaba', the album was well received by the critics as well as audience. It sold millions of copies and was certified a Platinum status. After the success of her debut album, Estrella was invited to play at prestigious music festivals and events including VI Festival de la Luna Mora, Guitar Festival, Cartagena's Mar de Musicas, Tudela's Sonidos del Mundo and Festival Internacional del Cante de la Minas. She also performed at XII Bienal de Flamenco's closing ceremony.
Her second album, 'Calle del Aire', was also released in 2001. The album was again a success with the critics as well as fans. It comprised of hit songs like 'Cancion de los pastores', 'Noche de paz', 'Calle del aire' and 'Nana'. The chart breaking album reached Gold status after selling over half a million copies. Since then, Estrella has released three more albums including 'Casacueva y scenario', 'Mujeres' and most recently 'Autorretrato' in 2012. 'Autorretrato' has again managed to fascinate thousands of flamenco music fans around the world. The album consists of hits like 'Tangos Toreros', 'A lola', 'La Estrella' and 'Pregon de las Moras'. Apart from this, Estrella's voice has also been featured in films including 'Volver' and 'Sobrevivire'.
