Are you ready for a rocking tribute show that will feature the hits by king of rock n roll! Elvis Presley was scheduled to perform in Portland on August 17th in 1977. Unfortunately he died just a day before the concert. The event 'Elvis Finally Comes to Portland' not only completes his unfinished performing assignment but also is a tribute to the various music contributions that he treated his fans with during his short but memorable journey. Headlined by his famous impersonator/tribute artist Dana Z, the event is scheduled to take place on the same date and city (17th August in Portland). You can now get the fast selling Elvis Finally Comes to Portland tickets and join in to celebrate the music of the rock legend.

The highly anticipated concert features a stellar lineup of musicians. Dana Z is one of the most widely known and sought after Elvis tribute artists. He has staged many tribute shows for a number of theatres, festivals, conventions, corporate and other social events. Apart from versatility, he has the ideal looks, vocals and moves to match the charisma of Elvis. Upon watching him perform live it seems as if Elvis never really departed.

Joining this amazingly skilled performer is Tony Funches, former lead vocalist of Herb Reed's Platters. The singer is expected to play some of the hit tracks produced by the star during the 80s and 90s. Some of these numbers include 'Smoke Gets in your eyes', 'My Prayer', 'Only you' and the ever famous 'The Great Pretender'.

Another prominent name amongst the performers is the blue eyed soul band called 'The Shades of Blue'. Their most popular hit is the 1966 single 'Oh How Happy'. The number was penned by Edwin Starr and it reached the twelfth spot of the US Billboard Hot 100, number seven on the Billboard R&B countdown and also made it to the top ten in Canada. Another hit single by the group is 'Lonely Summer'. It was again written by Starr and released the same year as 'Oh how Happy'. The band split in 1970. You now have a chance to enjoy their spectacular musical performance at the upcoming event.

Another band heading for the tribute show is The Drifters with Ron McPhatter. The group carries forward the legacy of one of the biggest names of rock 'n' roll music, Clyde McPhatter. It is led by Clyde's son Ronald who tours and performs a selection of the most famous Drifters songs such as the popular 'Treasure of Love' and 'Money Money'.

Harvey Robbin's Royalty of Rock n Roll ALL-Stars will also be presenting a bunch of hit songs of the genre at the concert. The production has played a huge role in promoting live performances by veteran R&B, rock 'n' roll and doo wop artists. You can expect not only a tribute show but multiple yesteryear stars and their music acts as they return to stage in Portland.

The main highlight however obviously remains the music of Elvis Presley. By blending genres like country, rhythm and blues with rock, Elvis created a unique sound that was to rule the music charts for years to come. His first single with RCA debuted at the top of the charts. Following his success in the music industry he also ventured into other fields of the performing arts such as television and cinema. One of his notable movies is called 'Love Me Tender'. He also served for his country as a military officer. His stage presence wowed audiences who burst into screaming cheers at a glimpse of the star. Elvis has been inducted into the Hall Of Fame numerous times. His career accolades include three Grammy wins while a total of fourteen nominations.

The rock 'n' roll legend was unable to see the dawn of 17th August 1977 and the cancellation of the day's concert was met with deep sorrow and grief, for the world had lost one of the greatest performers of the time. However as the star studded lineup prepares to put together a terrific tribute show to the king of rock, you can certainly expect a night of thrill, fun and entertainment to the core. So get your Elvis Finally Comes to Portland tickets and relive the glorious music times of Elvis Presley.
