Donna the Buffalo originated from New York in 1989. The band consists of lead vocalist Tara Nevins, guitarist and occasionally back up vocalist Jeb Puryear, drummer Mark Raudabaugh, the keyboard player David McCracken and bassist Kyle Spark. Nevins and Puryear do the main songwriting for the band. Past members included vocalist Jim Miller, drummers Tom Gilbert, Jimmy Triplett and Shane Lamphier and keyboardists Richie Stearns, Joe Thrift and Kathy Ziegler.
Donna the Buffalo started their professional career with the release of The White Tape in 1989.
