DEMETRI MARTIN The 35 year old Demetri Evan Martin was born on 25th May, 1973 in New York City, New York, USA. Demetri Martin, as is popularly called, is a Greek-American observational comedian, humorist, actor, musician, musical comedian, write, artist and Emmy Award nominated and Perrier Comedy Award winner. Martin is famous for a stand-up comedian and is famous fro his ambidexterity. He was a contributor in The Daily Show and now he has his own show on the channel, Comedy Central with the name, "Important Things with Demetri Martin". In 1995, Martin under graduated from the Yale University and dropped out of the NYU Law School to trail his career in comedy in spite of the fact that his family was against this.
Martin got his first big break in 2001 by appearing on the Comedy Central as a stand-up comedian in the shoe Premium Blend and got his first award, The Perrier Comedy Award, in the Edinburgh Fringe festival. He tells that his influence is Steven Wright, another deadpan one-liner comedian. He has a very eccentric witty and humorist style and his style includes stand-up comedy, dry one-liners, drawing on a pad and using musical instruments like piano, guitar and keyboard etc to accompany his performance like in the show on the Comedy Central. Demetri calls his comedy the "nerd comedy". For one year, from 2003 to 2004, Martin wrote comedy for the show Late Night with Conan O'Brian. Then in 2004, he got his own show, Comedy Central Presents, with three special parts of the show. In the first part, Martin presented stand-up comedy. In the second part, he used drawings to add a visual aspect to his show and in the third part, he played a guitar and his fellow comedians played as characters of a pseudo-magical land, demonstrating Martin's story.
After his success in 2004, in late 2005s, he appeared in the show, The Daily Show, in which he contributed as a Senior Youth Correspondent and presenting on the topic, "Trendspotting", which includes the famous trends among youth including Xbox 360, Guerilla marketing, wine and Hukkah etc. his comedy CD/DVD was released in 2006 titled, These Are Jokes. March 22nd, 2007 was the date of Martin's return to the show The Daily Show in which he appeared as a new Youth Correspondent with "Professional Important Things with Demetri Martin", as the name of his segment in the show. In recent times, he appeared as Seth Shapiro in the music video of "Someone to Love". He appeared in another music video called "selfish jean" with lyrics written on his shirts which he changed many times. He also appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2009 and in Late Friday in 2001.

The next year in 2005, he won Writers Guild of America Award for the show, Late Night with Conan O'Brian.
