Released in March 1973, Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by the English rock band, Pink Floyd. The band’s history dates back to 1965 when Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright delivered underground music performances in London. Under the exquisite guidance of Barrett, the group released two hit singles and a debut album before David Gilmour joined in as the fifth band member in December 1967.
In April 1968, Barrett unfortunately left the band due to his bad mental condition.
