He was brought by The Man with The Yellow Hat from Africa to live with him in his city home.

This book series has been translated in many languages and George has been renamed with every version accordingly to suit the translation well. The second series of books is rather based on the telefilm series. In some of the more recent series of Curious George, he is accompanied by only one original character and he is the Man with the Yellow Hat himself. This man has never been mentioned by his name. In 1980, the animation of the TV films had already begun. But it was not released until 2006. Walt Disney was interested in producing the movie in 1947 but it just did not happen. Curious George, the animated film was released in 2006. Will Ferrel stared as the Man with the Yellow Hat. Other than that there is also a video game as well.
