Colin Quinn is one of the famous American comedians, with Irish descent. The most popular show to his credit is the Saturday Night Live, which he had performed foe a period of fiver years.

He is considered to be among the famous personalities of MTV personality in the late 1980s.

Colin Quinn was born in Brooklyn in the year of 1959. He is widely known and applauded his much exaggerated Brooklyn accent and the funny mannerisms during the stand-up acts, headlining at top comedy clubs across the country, which also includes the Caroline's Comedy Club in New York City.

Quinn had worked as a bartender, before his entry into the stand up comedy acts. Quinn had seriously started the stand-up career in 1984. He had gained popularity among the audience in the year of 1987, while working as a co-host to MTV game show named Remote Control, which he continued for three years.

Later in the year of 1989, he had hosted A&E stand-up showcase called Caroline's Comedy Hour, during the time he had acted and written the comedic short/music video Going Back to Brooklyn along with Ben Stiller.

The earlier days of the showbiz career had been focused on the stand-up comedy and writing for shows like In Living Color. Later he had also indulged in writing the stories for the movies like the Celtic Pride.

Quinn had been offered a permanent role in the Saturday Night Live as a writer and featured player until 1997-1998 seasons, when he became a full cast member.

Quinn had also hosted the segments like Weekend Update in 1998 after the firing of the anchor Norm Macdonald, and he had anchored the segment until departing SNL in 2000. Quinn had been popular for his blunt and comic comments on the greatly publicized media cases like the Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal and the Microsoft Anti-Trust Trial.

During his SNL years, Quinn had made his Broadway debut in his one-man show, titled Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake, which was co-written with fellow comedian Lou DiMaggio.

Quinn had done a sketch comedy show on NBC after leaving the SNL show, the new show was named as The Colin Quinn Show, which had lasted for only three episodes in the year of 2002, due to non acceptance by the audience as well as the critics.

Quinn had started hosting the new show called Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn in the year of 2003. The show had followed The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and was one of several attempts to create a companion show for Stewart's program.

However, Tough Crowd had also received a mediocre acclaim by the audience. Although it was renewed through the 2005 television season, Tough Crowd was placed on indefinite hiatus in October 2004, with its final episode airing on November 4, 2004.

Colin performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, where many top comedians perform when not on the road.

Colin has discussed about his experiences as thousands of pages of manifestos that he's written since his departure from Tough Crowd, but never elaborated on the contents. He had also appeared in a comedy film called Harold in the year of 2008.
