Jason Reeves, a songwriter form LA, then joined her and co-wrote a lot of songs with her, while becoming her musical partner as well. In the following year (2008), Caillat recorded a duet song 'Lucky', with the popular artiste Jason Mraz, for his album We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things. Caillat also recorded a cover of the song 'Kiss the Girl' from The Little Mermaid for Disney's DisneyMania vol. 6 CD that same year. Additionally, she also toured with John Mayer, on his Summer Tour of 2008, in which she was the supporting act. The young and talented girl has also worked with many other popular artistes, including Schiller, George Harrison, Taylor Swift, and Juanes (the Columbian singer).
In 2009, Caillat released her sophomore studio album, entitled Breakthrough. The specialty of this new CD is that it features world renowned guitarist David Becker (who has worked with her father Ken several times in the past) on two tracks.
