A Dream Come True
Growing up on a farm in Southeast Colorado, Clare Dunn spent a lot of time driving tractors, working cattle and hauling water. While she was happily doing that she had a dream – creating her own music. Legends like Eric Clapton, The Eagles, The Stones and Strait formed the musical backdrop of her youth. Dunn is also quite passionate about dancing and was inspired by Michael and Janet Jackson. She participated in several dance competitions and even earned a scholarship by Janet Jackson's company to study in LA. Dancing was a way for Clare Dunn to express herself and since she could also sing, it was icing on the cake. Music was all Clare cared about and in 2007 moved to Nashville. The city didn't let her down and in no time the phenomenal country crooner was able to create a niche for herself.
Inspiration & Influences
For Clare Dunn, Keith Urban is her biggest inspiration. A huge fan of the singer, she opened for him in one of his tours and called it an experience of a lifetime. Her music is also greatly influenced by Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley. According to Clare Dunn, Bob Seger's lyrics had a huge impact on her and she calls him her hero and a big influence when it comes to songwriting. A true craftsman of words, Dunn tries to implement his style and comes up with honest and genuine lyrics. It's her strong work ethics that has made her one of the most sought after songwriters in the industry. Despite being new, she has already penned lyrics alongside veterans such as Hillary Lindsey, Troy Verges and David Hodges.
The Next Hottest Act in Nashville
With only two singles released so far, Clare Dunn has announced her arrival. All about girl power, the phenomenal country crooner has impressed many with her husky voice. Her debut single “Get Out” was released in 2013 and had Ben West as her co-writer. The song talks about girls needing a break as well after a tough long week and it's not just guys who need to blow off their steam. The feel-good number has relatable lyrics and Dunn's rich vocals blend beautifully with the mid-tempo beat.
Clare Dunn treated the fans to her second single in 2014, called “Cowboy Side of You”. She once again showed her singing and songwriting prowess, as the single made it to the music charts and got immense airplay. The versatile musician recently signed with Universal Music Group Nashville. While no date has been announced yet, she has promised her first album release in 2015.
