Bring Me The Horizon (often abbreviated to BMTH) is a metal core band from Sheffield, Yorkshire. The band was established in the year 2004. The band consisted of members of other bands within the local area.

Start of BMTH
The band started with members who were already part of other bands within the local area. The name of the band is taken from a line of the film Pirates of the Caribbean. The band has currently signed to the famous label Visible Noise Records. Originally, they had signed to Thirty Days of Night Records.

Overview of the Band
Bring Me the Horizon has been writing and recording a second studio album since the beginning of 2008. The album is expected to be released on September 29, 2008. The album is completely different from Count Your Blessings, having a more metal core vibe to it.

The band members include Oliver Oli Sykes at the vocals, Lee Malia as the lead guitarist, Curtis Ward at the rhythm guitar, Matt Kean at the bass and lastly Matt Nicholls on the drums

Achievements
The band was honored with the Award for the Best British Newcomer 2006 and the band also won the Award for the Best British Band 2008.

Albums
The first album of the band was titled This Is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For, signed with the Label Thirsty Days of Night and was released on October 2005.

The second album of the band was titled Count Your Blessings, signed with the Label Visible Noise and was released on October 30, 2006.

The third album of the band was titled Suicide Season, signed with the Label Visible Noise and was released on September 29, 2008.

Past Tours
The band has toured in the past with bands such as Lostprophets, the Blackout, the Killswitch Engage and the Haunted. They did a headlining tour of the UK during March and April 2007. They played Download Festival 2007 in June with Iron Maiden, Slayer and others.

Other Projects
Bring Me the Horizon also played at Download Festival 2008. He joined Oli in for the production of their new song Diamonds Arent Forever.

In November 2007, they toured the Australian leg of Gigantour. The band returned to Australia in May/June 2008, appearing on I killed the Prom Queen's final tour. They also appeared on the Warped Tour in the US.

Oli Sykes , Matt Nicholls, Tom Sykes and XricciX formed a rap group called Womb 2 da Tomb. Oli Sykes and his ex girlfriend's brother, Neil Whiteley, formed a two-man death/thrash band called Purple Curto.

Oli Sykes owns Drop Dead Clothing and employs his younger brother Tom and mother Carol to help run and manage it with him. Oli Sykes has an electronic instrumental side project called Olisaurus/Oli Has a Deathwish.
