Details of Bob Weir and the Ticket Luck value
Bob Weir is a guitarist and singer-songwriter who is best known for being in the original lineup of the rock band the Grateful Dead. Following the disbanding of the group in 1995, Weir started performing along with The Other Ones, also called The Dead, which comprised of previous members of the Grateful Dead. He founded several other bands and performed with them including Booby and the Midnites, the Bob Weir Band, Kingfish, RatDog as well as his most recent group called Further. While playing with the Grateful Dead, he mostly played the rhythm guitar as well as sang most of their rock-n-roll songs. Through the years, Weir has gained significant prominence for his complex voice leading technique which carries distinct depth and brings forth a new expression from the rhythm guitar. Bob Weir tickets are known to create much excitement among rock fans.
The beginning of Bob Weir’s musical career goes back to the time when he spent an entire night playing music with Jerry Garcia after which the two decided to form their own band. At the time their music was majorly influenced by The Beatles in terms of musical direction, since the two were quite impressed by the latter and changed from being a jug band to a rock ‘n’ roll group. The band was initially named Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions after which it was changed to The Warlocks and then to Grateful Dead. Weir basically performed on the rhythm guitar alongside singing a major part of the lead vocals during his thirty years with the Dead.
In the late seventies, Weir started experimenting with various slide guitar methods and played several of the Dead show using the slide. His distinguished guitar style is primarily influenced by McCoy Tyner, the hard bop pianist while he has also named various other artists such as Igor Stravinsky, Rev. Gary Davis and John Coltrane as a main source of influence. Bob Weir gained popularity for his periodic guitar moves many times in the Grateful Dead shows to take direct the crowd’s attention and to give rise to musical momentum.
Bob Weir made his first solo album titled Ace in 1972, on which the Grateful Dead performed as a band. Part of the album’s lineup included Keith Godchaux as well as his wife Donna, who had both joined the band by the time the album was released. During 1975 and 1976, while still playing a member of Grateful Dead, Weir performed with the rock band Kingfish alongside friends Dave Torbert and Matt Kelly. Much later towards the end of the eighties, he made contributions to Kelly’s album titled A Wing and a Prayer, released in Relix Records. In 1978, he also performed as the frontman of the Bob Weir Band alongside Brent Mydland, who entered the Grateful Dead lineup the next year. By 1980, Weir formed yet another band called Bobby and the Midnites. In 1994, was entered into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with the other Grateful Dead members.
Bob Weir is known to have been part of the many reformations by the members of Grateful Dead including the stints of 2002, 2000, 1998 when they called themselves The Other Ones, as well as between 2003 and 2009, when they called themselves The Dead. In 2009, Phil Lesh and Weir formed another band named Further in honor of the psychedelic themed bus of Ken Kesey.
Since 2011, he has been working on a new studio offering with Josh Giglio. His most recent projects include touring alongside Chris Robinson, the lead vocalist of the Black Crowes, and songwriter/singer Jackie Greene. As a group the three are called Robinson, Weir and Greene Acoustic Trio. Some of the most popular albums featuring Weir include Live, Live at Roseland, Kingfish in Concert, Evening Moods and WeirHere.
