He has also been the lead singer and songwriter for the group 'Steel Train'.Currently Jack is committed to theBleachers project along with his fellow Steel Train members.Jack gained an interest in musicata very young age. In his sophomore year of school, he formed a punk rock band with his friends, called 'Outline'. The endeavor was successful enough and Outline toured successfully in Florida and Texas. The group disbanded as a result of many people leaving to attend college.
In 2002, Jack Antonoff formed another group along with Scott Irby-Ranniar and named it 'Steel Train'. The drummer Matthias Gruber and Evan Winker from the band 'Random Task' would only join the band later. In 2008, another incarnation of the band took place when the front man of 'The Format' Nate Ruess and former member of 'Anathallo' Andrew Dost asked Jake Antonoff to join them in a new band called 'Fun'. Since Jake was well acquainted with both the musicians because of touring with their former bands, he accepted their offer and hence began a new chapter of music for the talented rock star.
Many stars tend to take vacations or rest in their free time. Jake Antonoff writes and records songs.
