Ada, Oklahoma based country music artist Blake Tollison Shelton was born on June 18, 1976. He started his music career in early childhood, and was adept in playing guitar in adolescence. At 12, his guitar playing skills were undoubted, and his home state awarded him with Denbo Diamond Award when he was sixteen years of age. Later, he decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee to provide congenial atmosphere for his talent to grow and develop.

Blake Shelton stepped into professional music industry in 1998 when he signed to Giant Records and released his debut single Austin. The song was a super hit and remained number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks for more than five weeks. Soon after its release, he signed to Warner Bros. Records as the former company was dissolved. His self titled first album was released in 2001 and rated Gold by RIAA. This early success got Shelton’s professional career the kick start he needed.

Two years later in 2003 his second album named The Dreamer was released. It was again a huge success, and claimed gold certification by RIAA. It included songs like The Baby that topped the Country Charts and stayed there for about three weeks.  Third album was released in 2004 named Blake Shelton’s Barn and Grill. The album continued his tradition of giving top class songs, and his single Some Beach from that album topped country songs charts for four weeks. The album was also rated gold by RIAA. There was also a video collection released along with the album, named Blake Shelton’s Barn and Grill: A Video Collection. Other songs from that album that made it to top ten charts were Nobody but Me and Goodbye Time. In those days Shelton appeared in a small role in a TV movie named The Christmas Blessing which also featured his song Nobody but Me.

Pure BS was his fourth studio album to be released in 2007, with two of its songs The More I Drink and Don’t Make Me reaching top twenty in country charts. 2007 was the year when Shelton appeared on TV shows as well, namely Clash of the Choirs and Nashville Star. Shelton gave his third song to reach number one on Country Charts in 2008, when Pure BS was re-released with three bonus tracks. The song was titled Home, which was closely followed by another hit single, and Shelton’s fifth number one, She Wouldn’t be Gone. These back to back hits led to release of his fifth album Startin’ Fires.

Later in 2009, Blake Shelton released Hillbilly Bone, a duet with Trace Adkins that became another one of his songs to reach number one on the charts. Loaded: The Best of Blake Shelton was the first greatest hits album that was released towards the end of 2010.  Shelton was titled Male Vocalist of the Year in 44^th Annual Country Music Awards in November 2010, where he also performed his hit single All About Tonight. He was also inducted in Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country music stage concert, by Trace Adkins in October 2010.

Blake Shelton is one of the few American country music singers to receive widespread popularity right from the start of his career.
