Given to Major Frederic McLaughlin, in 1926, the team became a true representative of Chicago city’s sports spirit and culture. The team’s inaugural seasonal play was average, winding up with a 19-22-3 record in the third place. The next commendable game play was exhibited by the Blackhawks in 1931 when they went up all the way to Stanley Cup Final. The team was back in form and prepared for the 1961 STANLEY Cup. The regular rounds, up to the semi-finals proved rather slow for the Blackhawks. But they struck back in the finals with full force and won the Cup. The following part of the sixties, the team had inconsistent regular seasonal wins. However they still strived hard and reached the Stanley Cup Finals, twice. This decade was also marked with tremendous game play by Hall of Famers Hull and Miki. The duo became a fear factor of every Blackhawks game.

 
With the seventies dawning the team moved to the West Division where it landed in the second place after contesting powerfully in four consecutive seasons. The team also managed playoffs each year; consequently bagging seven division championships. The 1982’s return of the team in NHL’s mainstream kept them upfront the strongest contenders of the league and their division. Throughout the remaining era, the Blackhawks won chances to go and perform at the playoffs but a row of defeats one after the other kept their winning graph stagnant overall.

 


The nineties were all good charms for the team. It directed itself to take playoffs to a winning Presidents' Trophy and a 40-win 1992–93 season amongst many flashy records.
