They stand out for their strong guitar beats, thriving music, stage firing performances, and pretentious presence. The current line-up for Black Label Society features the founder Zakk Wylde on vocals, guitar, and piano; Nick Evil Twin on guitar; JD on bass; and Craig Nunenmacher on Drums. After discontinuing with Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk formed his own band while establishing himself as the hardest-working men in the music industry. Today, Black Label Society is ranked amongst the most contemporary heavy metal rock bands.

Zakk and the band have many accolades, multi-platinum CDs, Grammy and others. Prior to the formation of Black Label Society, Zakk would perform in a solo band called Pride & Glory. He garnered a satisfied fan-base for playing a fusion of bluesy southern rock and heavy metal. In 1996, Zakk subsequently came up with an acoustic solo album, titled Book of Shadows. The album could receive limited success. After a course of 2 years, Zakk issued 'Sonic Brew'.

Together with drummer Phil Ondich, Zakk recorded Black Label Society's debut album, called Sonic Brew and released it in October 1998. Around the time of releasing Sonic Brew, Black Label Society comprised Nick Caanese, John DeServio and Zakk. The album proved to be a breakthrough in the band's career and received positive reviews. The release of Sonic Brew was followed by a Tour. The band managed to leave a mark in almost all venues they played. After touring biggest venues around the world, Black Label Society returned to the studio for their second album. They came up with 'Stronger Than Death' in 2000. Black Label's fans were in treat with the release of the album.

By this time, DeServio was replaced by Steve Gibb and Ondich by Craig Nunenmacher. This line-up recorded and released Alcohol Fueled Brewtality Live + 5 in 2000. With several greatest hits, the album increased the band's critical fame. In order to promote the album, the group embarked on a world-wide tour and dashed at several biggest venues. Black Label Society successfully managed to establish itself as the heavy metal rock band whose music run listeners over. Continued gaining momentum and success, the band hit the music industry with their yet another album called Eternal. It was released in 2002 to rave reviews.

The following year saw the bassist Trujillo joining Metallica. The void was soon filled by Inez who rejoined Black Label Society. In 2003, the band issued 'The Blessed Hellride' and embarked on a tour in support of the album. Black Label Society stunned the music industry as well as music addicts by releasing another album, Hangover Music Vol.VI in 2004. In 2005, the group left Spitfire Records and signed to Artemis Records. Artemis released the band's most thunderous album, Mafia. In the end of that year, John DeServio rejoined Black Label. In 2006, a group of hell-raisers discontinued with Artemis Records and signed to Roadrunner Records.

Black Label Society issued their seventh full-length album, Shot to Hell in 2007 on Roadrunner Records. The band that had started as a one man show, undergone several line-up changes is now a beat of the street. Music-lovers love to get their ears and souls dirty with the band's dark, fearsome and thunderous music. Today, Zakk is not associated with Black Label Society but he also plays for Ozzy believing that moving out of the house doesn't mean that one doesn't love one's dad anymore.
