Bell Biv DeVoe's had released its third album, B.B.D., in the year of 2002. This latest effort saw Bell Biv Devoe exploring a more, hardcore rap style/R&B approach. It received mixed reviews and not much commercial success.

In October of 2008, Bell, Biv, and Devoe were on the radio with V103 (Atlanta) where they had given a little information about their not yet finished track titled, "That Girl ".
