Bayside is an American rock band formed in 2000. They are currently signed to Victory Records from Bayside, Queens, New York. The band has released three full length albums.
They came up with their name when driving around the Bayside train station and thought it was a good idea. Since the band's inception on Long Island, Bayside has become the voice for the misanthropic and the hopeful alike.
Having released four studio albums with Victory Records since signing on in 2003, Bayside has sold over a quarter-of-a-million records, making it one of the most likable bands in the industry.
They self released a 5 song demo and signed to Dying Wish Records, who issued their first release, Long Stories Short EP, in 2001.
Having released four studio albums with Victory Records, Bayside has sold over a quarter-of-a-million records, becoming one of the most likable bands in the industry.
Bayside released a split with Name Taken in 2003 on the same label. The band then signed to much bigger Victory Records. The Sirens and Condolences was released in early 2004 on the same label.
The album was followed by Bayside's self-titled release in 2005. Following the death of their drummer John Holohan, the group issued the appropriately titled Acoustic. Acoustic featured a tribute to Holohan and renditions of some of their songs.
Bayside released their third full length album, entitled 'The Walking Wounded' on February 6, 2007. The Walking Wounded spawned its first single 'Duality'. The track was made available for download on iTunes.
The album debuted at number 75 on the U.S. Billboard 200 in mid-February, selling over 13,000 copies. Bayside re-issued The Walking Wounded on July 22nd. Like their previous studio record, this album too was produced by Shep Goodman and Kenny Gioia.
Bayside recently released their fourth full length studio album, entitled 'Shudder'. Singer/guitarist Anthony Raneri, in an interview said that the new album has more of a punk sound with more energetic songs.
David Schiffman, known for his work with Grammy Award winning music producer Rick Rubin, is a producer of Shudder. On September 5th, 2008, the album leaked onto the internet.
In addition to producing music, Bayside has made many other references as well. They made references to the 1984 feature film 'The NeverEnding Story' in their song titles.
The band is currently involved with the non-profit organization To Write Love On Her Arms. Drummer Chris Guglielmo wore one of TWLOHA's shirts for the band's February 22, 2007 performance on Late Night With Conan O'Brien.
Long Stories Short is an EP released in 2003. The song 'Just Enough To Love You' was re-recorded on the band's 2004 release Sirens and Condolences. Bayside is the self-titled second album by the group from Victory Records.
Live at the Social Club is the live album from them which was released on the same day along with their album Shudder. It featured songs from Baysides' three albums Sirens and Condolences, their self-titled album, and The Walking Wounded.
