The Basilica Block Party is the annual summer music festival that takes place at the prestigious Basilica of Saint Mary, located in Minneapolis. After the Cathedral of Saint Paul, the Basilica of Saint Mary is the most important Church of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul. Its building was constructed over a time course of eight years between 1907 and 1915. The outstanding architectural display of the building is credited to the renowned architect named Emmanuel Louis Masqueray, who also designed the Saint Paul Cathedral around the same time period. Owing to its extraordinary architecture and its status of a co-cathedral in the Archdiocese, it was designated as a Basilica by the Pope in the year 1926. Hence, it came to be known as the fist Basilica of the United States of America. One of the most prominent aspects of this traditional Church is the large number of youth that make up its huge and prosperous congregation.

The confirmed first day performers of the two day music festival are Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Father John Misty, Matt Nathanson, The Cactus Blossoms, Family of the Year, ZZ Ward, Mayer Hawthorne, Churchill, Actual Wolf and Southwire. They are followed by the second day acts like Matchbox Twenty, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Bomba deLuz, Van Stee, Walk the Moon, Goo Goo Dolls, Kate Earl, On an On and Cloud Cult.
