The Arch Enemy Band hails from Halmstad, Sweden. The band is one of the most famous melodic death metal bands of their times and has also been credited for expanding and honing the death metal music across the world. Originally founded in 1996, the band has exponentially grown over the years and has become extremely popular in different parts of the world.
Arch Enemy Band came into existence by the amalgamation of guitarist Michael Amott and John Liiva. Prior to creation, both were part of the famous death metal band called Carnage. John Liiva later on left the band and was replaced by Angela Gossow. Currently, the Arch Enemy Band revolves around Angela Gossow as the lead vocalist and Michael Amott as the guitarist and backup vocalist. Christopher Amott also has a similar role as his brother and is an exceptional guitarist. Sharlee D'Angelo is the band's bass guitarist and Daniel Erlandsson plays the drums. Some of the great musicians have once played for the Arch Enemy Band including Peter Wildoer, Fredirk Akesson, and the legendary Martin Bengtsson.
Like many of their predecessors and music counterparts, the Arch Enemy Band also had to face extensive drawbacks before becoming an eminent player in the market. Their debut album which was called Black Earth could not come up to be expectations of the band. The band did however get a fair amount of success in Japan and somewhat of a moderate response from Sweden. "Bury Me An Angel" was a hit and led the debut album into the market. During these years, the entire lyrics were written by Michael Amott and the band was not considered as a permanent infrastructure but rather a part-time gig. The musicians were playing music during their spare time and required the financial assets to free them from their other activities so that they could concentrate on creating music.
Soon after the release of their debut album, the Arch Enemy Band produced Stigmata in 1998. This was a time when they were able to penetrate into the market. Arch Enemy tickets were now being sold and people started understanding the creativity of their music. Arch Enemy Band produced six other albums after their second release. Burning Bridges 1999, Wages of Sin 2001, Anthems of Rebellion 2003, Doomsday Machine 2005, Rise of the Tyrant 2007 and the Root of All Evil in 2009. Arch Enemy Band started manipulating their approach to music and changed their music and beat in 1999. Even the album Burning Bridges showed a magnanimous change in the music and dialect of the band. Their melodic approach got a new meaning that was riveting as well as aspiring. The world fell in love with this album and gave the band of prominence in the world market. Arch Enemy Band and the tickets were now being sold at a premium. People were simply magnified by the onstage performances and their live tours.
